On October 28, 2008, an unknown perpetrator(s) kicked in the back door of a residence in the Foxford Run subdivision. A flat screen television and a laptop computer were then taken from the residence.
Later that morning, another burglary of similar circumstances occurred just outside of Tyrone on Coastline Road.

On Friday October 31, 2008 the Tyrone Police Department was awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice worth over $3,000. The grant pays 50% towards the purchase of new ballistic vests for our officers.
Ballistic vests expire every 5 years and must be replaced.
The Tyrone Police Department is accepting donations for our 2nd Annual 'Shop with a Cop' event.
This program enables us to provide local children with limited means with the ability to purchase Christmas gifts for themselves and their families. Our officers volunteer their time to take the kids shopping at local retailers such as Walmart and Target.
