The FBI recently released their Crime in the United States report for 2008 and it brings good news when it comes to violent crime across the country:
On the other hand, property crimes to include thefts and burglaries saw slight increases and that trend is expected to continue as the economy remains stagnant.
We were happy to report in our 2008 Annual report that Tyrone experienced a decrease in overall crime from 2007 and, based on the data in the FBI's annual report, our citizens continue to enjoy one of the lowest crime rates in the State of Georgia when comparing our data with that of other cities of similar population.
If you have any questions about UCR crime data, or crime issues in Tyrone, please feel free to contact Chief Perkins or Lt. Lafferty.
