The Tyrone Police Department is made up of 17 dedicated men and women serving an area of 23 sq. miles, 7,000 residents, and over 400 businesses.
In 2008, the TPD conducted 11,476 activities to include calls for service, officer initiated calls & pullovers, accidents, and other services. Despite an increase in activities, the Town's overall crime rate was reduced by 25% as compared to 2007 with property and violent crimes going down 21% and 75% respectively.
