Severe Weather Update

Wednesday March 25, 2009 4:44 pm - The National Weather Service has issued an updated synopsis on the potential for severe weather for the remainder of the week and the weekend. Details are as follows:

Tonight
- Moderate Rainfall
Flood Watch in Effect

Thursday
- Slight Risk mainly west (Carroll Co, Rome)
Thursday Evening - Potential for Isolated Strong thunderstorms moving to the east.

Friday
- Increase risk for Isolated Severe Thunderstorms and this risk will continue to increase throughout the evening into Saturday.

Saturday
- Greatest potential for severe weather including tornados, damaging winds, large hail. There will be increased instability in the atmosphere making for an increased risk of tornado activity.

Flood Watch will remain in effect until Sunday
Possibility of 4 -7 inches of rain accumulation possible.
